D9 Sponsorship Letter

The District 9 Leadership and Skills Conference will be held on February 15-16, 2019 at the TSTC Fort Bend Campus. The entry fee for District 9 SkillsUSA competition is $40.00 per student.  Students registered late will pay a $50.00 late entry fee.  Make checks or money orders payable to SkillsUSA Texas District 9 and mail them to the address listed below. Please include your chapter number and invoice with the check. We will only accept checks in the mail; never in person.

The District 9 registration deadline is Friday, January 25, 2019. Late registration will be accepted until January 31st with a penalty fee of $50 per person. No registrations will be accepted after Thursday, January 31st. 

No Substitutions will be allowed past February 1st after 4:00PM. This will be strictly enforced.

Please note any competition location changes on the linked agendas and schedules. Check the District 9 site for specific skills and leadership competition times and locations.  We are working on possible changes in competition locations and times. I will post these changes to the District 9 website as they are finalized. Any items marked in RED on the documents are considered TENTATIVE.

February 1st is the deadline for SkillsUSA membership.  You must register your students by this date to be eligible to compete in district contests.  Be sure that you have submitted students’ names on the national web page.

If you have any students interested in becoming a District 9 officer, complete the Officer Candidate Registration Packet and email a scanned copy of the application with a copy of the high school transcript for each candidate to Al Taglialavore, atag@fisdk12.net Make sure you get a confirmation of receipt from Al. This information needs to be emailed to Al by February 8th by 4:00PM. No late candidate packets will be considered. Candidates will have to pass the SkillsUSA Knowledge test with a score of 75 or above in order to qualify to give their candidate speeches and be considered for voting.

SkillsUSA Texas Liability Form 2019

This Document should be downloaded and sent home with each student.  It should be reviewed with their parent or guardian, signed and returned to the advisors.  The advisor will then indicate this form has been reviewed and signed by checking the box at the bottom of each students registration and by entering the information on the registration page during registration or  after the registration has closed.  IT MUST BE COMPLETED FOR ALL EVENTS.
